Your body doesn’t start with a shout. It starts with a whisper you can easily ignore until the pain finally forces you to pay attention.

We’re Dr. Jaguar Knight Bryant and the Simply Health and Wellness Podcast, and we’re getting practical about three early warning signs that it may be time to get checked. We talk through what it means when you “just don’t feel like yourself” even without severe pain, why recurring neck tension or low back tightness is a pattern worth taking seriously, and how getting through your days is not the same as thriving. Along the way, we connect the dots between spinal alignment, joint motion, muscle guarding, and nervous system stress so you can understand why the body compensates for a while and then eventually breaks down.

We also add a timely bonus for anyone coming off travel or spring break: long car rides and flights, different beds and pillows, late nights, lifting luggage, and carrying kids can stack stress on the spine and nervous system all week long. We share a simple plan to prepare before a trip and reset afterward, with the goal of faster recovery, less inflammation, and better function without jumping straight to medications or invasive options.

If you’ve been feeling off, dealing with the same tight spots, or running on coffee and grit, hit play and take one small step toward real wellness. Subscribe, share this with someone who needs it, and leave a review so more people learn to listen before the body starts screaming.

Your Body Is Always Speaking

What's going on, family, and welcome back to the Simply Health and Wellness Podcast. I'm Dr. Jaguer Knight Bryant from Muster C Chiropractic. And today we're going to dive into something that could honestly change the way that you listen to your body forever. Because here's the truth your body is always speaking to you. The question is, are you actually listening or are you waiting? Too many people they wait until the pain is unbearable before they ever take action. And this is the issue. The pain is often the last signal, not the first. So today, I just want to walk you through three powerful signals that your body gives you that tells you that it's time to actually get checked, that it's time to get adjusted, and it's time to stop ignoring what your body is trying to stay. So let's start with this one. You just don't feel like yourself. You're not in severe pain, you're not also at your best. This not feeling like yourself is normally kind of spoken out as this way energy is lower than usual. Sleep is not as deep. You're a little bit more irritable. You feel tight, you feel stiff, you feel sluggish, and you really just can't quite put your finger on it. And most people just brush this off. Then they say things like, Well, you know, I'm just tired, I'm just a little stressed. And I'm I'll I'll deal with that later when I get an opportunity. But here's what's actually happening: your nervous system is actually under stress. And the research shows that when the spine is misaligned, what we call a subluxation, it can interfere with how your brain communicates with the body. And when communication is off, your body does not function at 100%. Your energy drops and your adaptability to stress will decrease. So, before your body screams in pain, it often whispers through dysfunction. That off-feeling, that is your whisper. So, signal number one, you don't feel right, even if nothing hurts. Now, let's go a little bit deeper. You keep dealing with the same tension over and over and over again. So, let me ask you, how many times this week have you rubbed your nail? How often does your low back feel tight after sitting? Do your shoulders ever feel like you're carrying the weight of the world? And here's the key word here: recurring. Because if it keeps coming back, it was never actually fixed. Most people they'll manage this with stretching, massages, foam roaming, pain medication. All those things are temporary and they can be helpful. But if the structure of your spine is off, out of alignment, then the muscles are consistently trying to compensate. And that's when the tension starts to come into the back and into the neck. There's actually research here, you guys, showing that muscle tension off the father's joint dysfunction and not the other way around. So if the joint isn't moving correctly, the muscles tighten to protect. The nervous system stays on high alert. This cycle will what? Repeat itself and continue. And here's what I want you to understand today this is your body protecting you, but also warning you. So if you keep saying, my neck is always tight, my back always flares up, this is not normal, you guys. This is a signal. So we have to work on understanding that we can do better. Now, here's signal number three. You're functioning, but really you're not thriving. You're getting through your days, of course, right? You you feel like something is kind of missing a little bit, but you're getting through it. You normally rely on coffee to get you going, you'll crash in the afternoon. You feel drained even after an evening of rest or night's rest. You even push through instead of living fully. And here's what I want you to understand: just because you can push through doesn't mean your body is doing well. The human body is incredibly adaptable. It will compensate, it will adjust, it will survive. But survival is not nearly the same as optimal health. And that's what our patients here at Mustard Seek Chiropractic are chasing after. When your nervous system is under consistent stress, it shifts into more than just a simple uh tear down state. It's fight or flight. And when that happens, healing will start to slow down. Energy production will drop, and hormonal balance will get disrupted. So even though you're making it, the reality is you're not operating at your God-given potential. And chiropractic care is all about restoring that potential. It's about making sure that the nervous system can function freely and fully. So let me say this clearly: your body was designed to heal. Your body was designed to thrive. Your body was designed to function, but it cannot do it when there is interference with the process. And most people wait too long. They wait until the pain is severe, until the problem is chronic, until the generation is already set in at a high alert in a big time way. But what if you didn't wait? What if you had listened just a little bit sooner? So here's my encouragement for everybody today if you're experiencing any of these three signs and symptoms, you're feeling off, you're having this recurrent tension pop up, and you're functioning, but you're really not thriving. Don't wait. I want you to get checked right here at Muster Seed Chiropractic. We do not just chase the symptoms. We address them, but we look at the spine, we look at the nervous system. We want to see how your body is truly functioning because the goal isn't just to feel better, the goal is to function better, live better, and be your best version of yourself. So I have a little bit of a bonus piece here for you guys. I believe that it'll be extremely helpful. I want to pause right here because it's really extremely relevant right now. You see, we just came off a spring break, and a lot of people, well, they weren't really spring breaking, they were spring breaking it down. Okay. So here's what I want you to think about. When your body goes through a spring break, many people are going in long car rides and flights, different beds, different pillows, more walking than usual, no movement at all, late nights, early mornings, lifting luggage, carrying the kids. Hello, can I get an amen for that? And activities your body was not really prepared for. And here's the thing: your body thrives on consistency, and spring break disrupts all of that. So what happens is the muscles they will tighten up, the joints start moving improperly, and then the spine takes on this extra stress. And now you've got your sprains, your strains, and your muscle spasms. That neck pain that you're feeling, that low back tightness, that did not just happen overnight. That was building all week long. And now you're back at home, back to work, back to the responsibilities, but your body did not reset with you. So here's what most people don't realize. When your spine is taking on that type of stress, it doesn't just affect the muscles, it does affect your nervous system. And your nervous system, when it's irritated, your healing slows down, the tension increases, and the pain becomes more frequent. So if you're trying to jump back into life, but your body is still stuck in that stressful mode. This is what we always say. Don't wait until after the damage is done. Prepare your body and recover your body now. So before your next trip, I want you to get tuned up with an adjustment right before you go on that trip, right? Get your spine moving well, get a great adjustment. And then after your trip, don't just push through it. Come in, reset, realign, recover, reset, folks. And in many cases, we even call this the emergency package in our office, just because we want to make sure your body bounces back faster, reduce more inflammation, and restore function without jumping straight into medications or more invasive options. Because the goal of the vacation, well, is to come back feeling better, not broken. So I just wanted to remind you of that today. Again, my name is Dr. Jaguar Knight Bryant. Hopefully, this episode was extremely, extremely helpful for you. Feel free. You can always share it with someone who needs it. And as always, you already know what I say. We got your back. We hope to see you uh here very soon. Take care.
